Units of measurement
★Yarn count is a way to grade flax according to the fineness of fiber.
In the United States, the measurement unit of flax yarn is lea. The finer the yarn, the higher the value of LEA.
◆1LEA=1 pound flax spun 300 yards (yarn)
◆40LEA=1 pound flax spinning 40 × 300 yards (1200 yards)
In Europe, metric count is adopted, which is expressed by the letter Nm, that is, Nm=fiber or yarn length meters/weight grams.
China adopts British count, that is, one pound (454g) of cotton yarn (or other components yarn separation), 840 yards (0.9144 meters) in length, and the fineness of yarn is one inch count.
